I’m hunting a food plot this afternoon where I killed a doe last year with my bow. I’m hoping for a repeat!! I spooked a doe on my way in here

Sitting in a ground blind with my 5 yr old son. It looks and feels like a great evening. Sitting on a trail that skirts the back side of a pine thicket. They have been using this route a good bit looks like.

That a rattle bag in your boot? It is. That where I always keep it this time of year. Especially since I’ll rattle every 30-45 min. It’s easy to just finish the sequence and stuff it in my boot. Really quick and doesn’t take much movement

Shot a nice buck around 1745, hit him back. Watched him run out to about 70 yards, fell down/tipped over and just laid there. Thought he was dead but looking through the binos his head was up. The other two bucks he was with came by to get him but he stayed and they walked off. Climbed out of the tree as quite as I could, checked the arrow (gut) and left the area. Hopefully he dies and the coyotes don’t get him. It will be a sleepless night. To be continued.............

Just drove around the open wooded lots above my neighborhood and saw 8 does. Hope that means deer on the hunting land will be moving in the am. I'm pumped.

Don't panic if he isn't.....I've seen this happen and the deer get up and move 300 yards then bed back down. If he's not where you left him you may want to call in a dog.
