I have not yet learned to shoot a bow so I do use a crossbaow. It is a very big pain in the rear, cocking, manuvering, and uncocking. I shot my first deer with it this year in Penn. It absolutely tore that deer's chest and heart apart which made it very easy to find. I guess for beginner hunters such as myself (2 years exp) they are nice and for my fiance that has had shoulder surgery. But I do have a good friend in TN that has both and he never uses his Xbow he would much rather use his Hoyt. I guess it comes down to preference, experience, and ability. twocents
