I hunt with a crossbow. I am quick to tell anyone that it does not compare with the skill needed to bow hunt. It doesnt bother me that some bow hunters are against it. With virtually every county having such liberal doe days, I dont believe that xbows are a threat to hurt the deer population. I believe that there is enough woods so that real bow hunters and xbow hunters can live together peacefully. I have a 10yr old and 7 yr old boy who can safely shoot the xbow while they are still learning to shoot a real bow. I have a great opportunity to spend time with them in a blind where they might get a chance at a deer with a xbow. That is worth a lot to me. It is not quite as easy as it sounds to just walk out in the woods and blow away deer with a xbow like you would a shotgun. trying to sit in a lock-on while holding an xbow for hours is a little awkward and they are kind of bulkey to lug around. If the state makes them illegal, I will be happy to get rid of mine and comply. I just fail to see why so many people spend their time in hatrid of the few who hunt with a crossbow? We need all the hunters who will teach and take kids out in the woods that we can get. If kids love to shoot the xbow, they may want to graduate up to the real bow later, but thats one more kid in the woods and not out on the street. Just my opinion
