I have owned both and have no brand loyalties. I would never own another dodge vehicle however.

Truth is they all make great trucks and they all make lemons. It just comes down to your preference. I like the looks of the Ford. They sit up a little higher, they are a more comfortable ride to me, the 4 door supercrew has more leg room in the back seat.

The Ford Motor company, either through its company policies or through donations, has been supportive of several gay and lesbian goals.

In a press release dated 2/1/05, Ford announced a pledge of $250,000 to the "Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale, one of the largest donations ever made from a fortune 500 company to a lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) organization.

In March, 2004, the co-founder of Ford's gay, lesbian or bisexual employees group (GLOBE) was honored by the Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community center.

In April, 2004, Volvo Cars of North American (a division of Ford) was given an Advertising Research Foundation award for it's campaign targeting GLBT customers.

In June, 2004, Diversity Inc. named Ford as among the top 10 companies for GLBT workers.

In July, 2004, Ford became the first of the Big-3 auto companies to add "Gender Identity" as a protected category.

In July, 2002, Ford hired Witeck/Combs Communications to handle their advertising to the gay and lesbian market, according to the Witeck/Combs website.

GM on "It Gets Better"

The It Gets Better Project (TM), part of The Trevor Project, was created to inspire hope for young people of the LGBT community facing harassment. Since its launch in 2010, it has turned into a worldwide movement, inspiring more than 25,000 user-created videos that have been widely viewed.

The Trevor Project was formed in an effort to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources including its nationwide, 24/7 crisis intervention lifeline, and digital community and advocacy/educational programs that create a safe, supportive and positive environment for everyone.

In this video, members of our LGBT community share their own personal stories in response to “The Trevor Project.” Their moving stories will hopefully remind young adults that is DOES get better.


Buick and the Gay Men’s Chorus

Founded in 1981, The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., has more than 270 members who perform five concerts annually and participate in a host of community events. Its mission is to delight audiences and champion gay equality with robust artistry, fun and surprise.

Partnering with Buick, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., invited members of the community to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in June 2011 and showcased the Buick Enclave and Buick LaCrosse. GM’s Adam Bernard was on hand to speak with the attendees during the cocktail reception, sharing insight and background on GM PLUS. A mobile photo studio captured guests interacting with the vehicles and provided customized souvenir snapshots at the end of the night.


GM PLUS Ride and Drive

Members of GM PLUS Affinity Group spent the day in Ferndale, Mich., at the Live Green Fair with a special ride-and-drive event. From Camaros to Cadillacs, residents enjoyed a variety of vehicles to test drive.

2011 Out & Equal Workplace Advocates Summit

This year, Chevrolet sponsored the 2011 Out & Equal Workplace Advocate Summit in Dallas, marking GM's return to this annual event. Out & Equal is a national organization that champions safe and equitable workplaces for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. GM PLUS first attended the annual event in 2002, and was a corporate sponsor from 2003 to 2008. In 2005, former GM PLUS chairman Les Hohman received their award for Trailblazer of the Year, and in 2009 GM PLUS was named Employee Resource Group of the year.

GM PLUS board members Adam Bernard, Mark Buffa, Donna Miller, Tom Hitchman, Delf Dodge attended, along with Diversity Initiatives' Dave Freeman. The Chevrolet booth included a Chevy Volt on display, which generated considerable interest among the conference attendees.

i've owned 1969 F-100, 1987 F-150, 1997 F-150, 2004 F-150 FX4 and 2009 F-150 FX4. Loved them all and they keep getting better. I still see the 1987 around town occasionally and it still looks great!

with my old 69, i could stand on the ground between the wheel well and the engine. man it was easy to work on it. nowadays i'm lucky to figure out how to change the oil on any new vehicle. that's the only drawback with trucks nowadays.

I have over 500,000 miles on my 2001 z71 and only changed the oil aroun 80,00 miles each time.. Love the truck.

But am disapointed that they let the govt. take them over in the bail out.. They should have taken the licks like every other business in our Country.. I know I did and I didnt get any offers for a bail out...

I've owned both. A 2005 Chevy Z71, which was totaled in an accident and a 2006 Ford F-150 Supercrew 4x4 Lariat. The F-150 was the best driving and had the best creature comforts. Got about 13 mpg and I got rid of it. I don't have truck at the moment, just a company car.

My next will most likely be a Tacoma Supercrew 4x4 or something similar. Mainly because I own, have owned Toyotas and like Toyotas better.

If you want to discuss brass tacks, most all GM and Ford vehicles are made with foreign parts so to say they are "American" is a fabrication.

This year, three automakers scored a perfect 100 on the HRC's annual Corporate Equality Index, including two of Detroit's Big Three.
We're happy to announce that three automotive companies scored a perfect 100 on the HRC's 2012 Corporate Equality Index: Chrysler, Ford, and Toyota. Volkswagen landed a very respectable 90 (improving some internal HR programs would bring VW up to a 100), Subaru received an 85 (though to land a perfect score, it needs to offer soft benefits like bereavement leave to domestic partners as well as transgender-inclusive health coverage), and General Motors also scored an 85.

Ford definately scores higher with the queers.

My first vehicle was an 84 Blazer and I still have it. The odometer broke at 275K about 10 years ago. Second vehicle was a 96 S-10 that I bought with 32K and drove to 130K+ and sold it. I wish I still had it. Third vehicle is the truck I still drive an 04 Z71 that I bought new and it has 80K on it now. My wife drove a 2000 cavalier when we had kids, it had 135K on it when we sold it last month. We bought a 2010 Traverse new before our son was born and it is great. The only non GM vehicle I own or have owned is my 85 CJ7 and I doubt I ever get rid of it either.

Chevy. Have owned a Ford ranger and tranny blew up at just over 100000 miles. I actually own a 98 dodge ram that has given me no problems what so ever and has been a great truck, but still prefer Chevy

I also have owned 2 other dodge caravans, a late 90s ranger, a 94 camaro, a 98 dodge ram, a 86 dodge d 50, a late 90s model stratus, a 2003 chevy silverado, a 2009 chevy silverado, a 94 jeep cherokee, and a 86 caviler, and a 94ish toyota tacoma and a 2008 wrangler.

The only vechile I have every had problems with would be the 2008 wrangler. Other than normal small stuff and a water pump, alternator, and similar.

Wifes parents were both Chrysler employees. Also several GM employees in the family.

I have four wore out Fords and one wore out Dodge. I was surprised how good a truck the Dodge has been. Only Chevy I had that was worth a flip was a 59 model with a straight axle.

I own a Ford F150. Biggest pc of shat I have ever owned. I will be going back to Toyota very soon.

I have a 99 Ford truck and a 92 chevy truck. Both are dependable trucks. Both have always had the oil changed at 3,000 miles. Our fleet at the company is about an equal split between Fords and Chevys. Our long time mechanic will tell you he has aobut the same amount of problems out of each. He will also tell you that there are certian year models of Ford and Chevy to stay away from due to cronic problems with certian years. Fact is some Fords are better than Chevys and some Chevys are better than Fords. It all boils down to preference. Out back is right, They are all overpriced and are just a piece of equipment made to perform a task. I did pay way too much to have my Chevy repainted last year and it looks great, but really who cares? its just a truck to haul dead deer in.
