Finally bought a bottle today. I will say its pretty good but it's definitely not Blanton's. Give me some others that I can try that will be as good or better than Blanton's. I sold spirits for 10 years, we had a little sayin', they're all good it's a matter of taste and budget. That said Basil Hayden's has a lot of rye in the mash and has a good smooth taste front to back. Another post noted Woodford, dang good whiskey, Larceny is another. Also saw Sazerac Rye mentioned, one of my personal favorites, Bulleit Bourbon or Rye is a good choice. Very pricey another off bourbon choice is Redbreast Irish. For me, no mixers, just six or eight cubes of ice let it rest a couple minutes, water actually releases more flavor, just my .02.
