And Shaw for confirmation, before the law change, it was illegal to have a firearm in your possession in the woods during bow season correct? When I posted that I figured you'd be the one to know.

I've had to stab em, cut their throats, and all that stuff. I cracked a doe in the back of the head one night with a big stick. I had gut shot her and gave her 4 hours. When I got to her, she was looking at me but to weak to get up. I grabbed said stick and hit her in the back of the head. I gave her a minute to quit squirming and was gonna gutry her and go. When I grabbed her back legs to get the job done, she commenced to kicking the hades out of me. She got me in the stomach and down my legs before I could get away. The one that hurt the most was right on the shin bone. So I hit her again with the stick. It was way after dark when all this happened and my cousin thought we'd get in trouble for spot lighting or something if we shot.

One of the funniest ones I've heard but did not witness was from a cousin. 2 of my kin folk were hunting one morning and one had shot an 8 point. He shot 3 or 4 times and was out of ammo. When they tracked the buck up, he was very much alive but didn't run. He tried charging them. So they devised a plan for one to get his attention and the other to try and lasso the buck so they could tie it to a tree and finish it with a knife. I can't remember why the other cousin didn't have his gun but he didn't. So, one distracts and the other uses a piece of rope and is able to get it around the bucks antlers and he cinched his head up to a tree and held him whIle the other ran in there and stabbed him. I've heard that story over and over and it never deviates and it seems to crazy to not be true. Lol.

This is correct. It was illegal until a couple years back. I don’t play when it comes to my safety and/or my wife and family who hunt with me as well. I’m not going to lie, I carried every time I went into the woods with a bow in my hand. I got a BS ticket for baiting when I was younger (which was thrown out in court) and I had a .40 caliber in a shoulder holster under my light jacket when the GW walked up on me. Not even sorry.

Supposedly illegal to have a firearm for hunting on your person during archery only season, but if you carried it concealed for protection and had a permit..... One of those deals where the right person never got ticketed and appealed it.

Reading some of the responses to finishing off a wounded deer makes me sick and embarrassed! From drowning deer to choking them.

You are deer hunting people and you have a rifle (or bow). USE IT!

Don't make the deer suffer any longer than necessary. Don't try and grab a wounded deer because no matter how big and tough you "think" you are, even a little deer can hurt you seriously.

This is not rocket science....JUST SHOOT IT. Shoot it in the neck or in the ribs. It will die quickly.

Nobody cares. Sometimes you have to use the tools at your disposal. It happens..... get over it.

And sometimes animal rights activists use your own words against you and eventually you can't hunt anymore.

Yes, "dispatch" is used often along with "harvest" so as to not offend anyone and make it more palatable for the masses. "Pursuing" wildlife instead of hunting is another politically correct word to remember.

"I pursued my wild quarry with gusto, cleanly dispatching it with one shot and then weeping in grateful admiration while offering blessed thanks for the bounty of the nutritious harvest my family will supplicate upon for the coming seasons."

I pursued and dispatched some tacos earlier.

And alltimes a shucks load of people do give a a hairy rats ass and they just happen to have a few politicians listen to them and then you get to cry about how unfair it is that they use your own words against you to take away your hunting rights (closely followed by gun rights)...keep on keeping on though brother I'm sure no one will ever try to screw with our freedom to hunt

Look.... if you want to portray hunting as rainbows and unicorns all the time be my guest. I live in reality where sometimes marginal shots happen and human error occurs. I've only posted one of the outlandish stories which was 100% true because me as a 16 year old bow hunter made a mistake and left my bow sitting on my stand. I'm going to tell you that I have shot 100's of deer with rifle, bow, and crossbow over the years and not every one of them fell to the ground and was dead by the time the dust settled. If you and all these others want to worry yourselves with what these people who walk around wearing vagina hats and pro abortion signs think of how you live your life then go ahead. Zero ***** given from me.


Let me leave you with a question. In.... oh lets say the last three generations, how many hunting rights have the vagina heads stripped from you?

I hit a lil 6 with my truck one year in my truck in a sub division where you wouldn't expect deer to be and it was still crawling and had crawled into these people's front yard I jumped out and was wrestling it down cutting its throat with a knife and the people was on the porch freaking out I was just like it tore the front of my truck up least it can do is go in my freezer lol

Cougar hunting in several states, bear hunting, dog hunting deer in a lot of places, the grizzly hunt in Wyoming didn't even make it off the starting line, trapping has been severly restricted in a lot of states, and they took away a few days of turkey season for the upcoming season...I'm sure I can find some more if you'd like

And I get that sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do but drowning an animal is ridiculous. That's literally what Vick went to jail for. You really don't see how putting that story out there could backfire?
