My neighbor found a doe in their yard the other day. Other than being dead, it looked to be a healthy animal. There were no other obvious wounds besides a gaping hole in its abdomen where it looked like the hide and muscle had been removed. The entrails were essentially intact and still in the animal.
No idea what would have made this type of wound that would have killed the deer and not left the entrails spilled out (which would have been the case if the doe would have been on her feet after the hide and muscle was removed)...
Posting a picture to Aldeer is a PITA to me - so no picture to share...
