Didn’t want to steal all the thunder from Alabama Legends thread.
What’s the strangest way or tool you have seen a wounded deer dispatched with. Like I mentioned in the other thread, I’ve got a buddy that has used the butt of a gun to bludgeon one and same guy used a hand limb saw to saw through ones throat. I’ve heard stories of folks holding them underwater and drowning them and smashing heads with rocks but don’t know anyone personally to do those things.

Hammer. And no it wasnt me. You can definitely drown a small 8 pt in a FL river by wrapping a piece of anchor rope around his horns and dragging him behind a 16 ft john boat with a 25 johnson. That also was not me but I did help clean it.

Nothing too strange. I've shot one between the eyes with a pistol and stood over another and drove a second arrow through its heart. I would much rather finish the job from a distance, though.

I've only had to cut 1 deers throat and I just used a knife I had in the truck. I was coming home from hunting and hit one with my truck knocking it down in the ditch. I turned around and pulled down in the ditch and she was still good and alive and actually kicked me. This would've been a whole lot easier if I hadn't hit the deer right in front of the main entrance of a state prison because if it would've been anywhere else I would've used the 7 mag and not got kicked but I figured I probably didn't need to shoot the rifle off right in front of the prison.

I was going to finish off a mortally wounded bow shot deer one night with a .357 and backed off about 20 foot. I shot it in the head and all I saw was fur flying and the deer bawling and trying to get up. I thought "dang now that is one seriously tough deer". It took me a second to realize that I had slipped a couple rat shot into that pistol earlier in the day to dispatch a moccasin. Shot the snake but never removed the one remaining rat shot shell from the gun once I was done. I quickly remedied the situation and spun the cylinder over to a jacketed hollow point which did a much better and much more humane job. I felt really bad about that for a while.

My, brother in law shot a doe with his bow ,I guess it broke it's back and
Paralyzed. It. It was still alive and trying to get up.He didn't have anymore arrows
So he came got me, So I shot it right between the eyes with my
bow, We thought it killed it. We went and got the truck, when
we got back it was flipping again with the arrow sticking out its head.
We had to cut it's throat after that.

I shot a buck way back in some public land.... he hit the ground. I set there 30 min and watched him lay lifeless. Got up and went back to truck to drop off gear and get my game cart for the long process of getting him out. Two hours later I showed up with game cart ready to drag him out. Get to him and his eyes were closed. I poked him and he starting flopping all over the place. I beat him to death with a big stick. On the way out biologist wanted to look at his teeth to age him...... didn't know it at the time but I'd beat the majority of his teeth out his head during the finishing off process. Learned my lesson.

Shot a nearly 200lb. 8-point with a .22 mag in the neck back in the early 90's.If you've ever been to Enterprise,to explain why I was using a .22 mag,I shot him less than a mile from the Boll Weevil monument,in a drainage between 2 housing developments.He hit the ground like a sack of taters on an old logging road,so I got out of the tree and went to get my buddy and my truck,backed up to him,and dropped the tailgate.We each grabbed 2 legs and he went to kicking.Didn't want to blow another round off,so my buddy grabs a lawn mower blade that was in the bed of my truck.After the third hit to the head,he quit kicking...

Not a deer but I beat a 50lb gobbler to death with a half inch drive ratchet
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??
