An 06 Sierra with 225k can't be worth a pile of money. Crunch the numbers and see if it makes sense. You can't consider the value of the truck, when weighing expensive repairs. You only need to consider the replacement cost. I've spent more, on both of mine, than they're actually worth. But the combined expense is still less than the cost of replacing either of them. The only other consideration, for me, is how many other repairs are needed and how much down time will they require. If I'm looking at a worn out drive train and/or front end, then I might not spend the money for a new engine. Depending on what's wrong with it. But your right.. crunch the numbers and see what makes sense.
