I would find a low mileage salvage with no front end damage. They can be had for $1000-1500 with low miles.
The only thing to consider would be the AFM (active fuel management) parts in the newer motors. If they are setup for it, you would most likely need to do to the AFM delete when installing, as from memory I do not think the 06 had AFM.
