I have two small fields that I plant here at the house about 1/2 acre a piece and are only about 20 yards apart. Mainly just to watch the deer out the window. When I left last Saturday going to the beech they were about an inch or two tall and just as pretty and green as they could be. Well I got home today and they are gone. Looks like somebody plowed them up and never put any seed out just bare dirt. Damnedest thing I have ever seen.

I read somewhere Black Painters, Chupacabras and Calds like to fight in new green fields. Maybe they had a scuffle and tore the field up

I’ve seen where deer have wiped them out in a short time. When it is wet, they pull the plants up by the roots. We had a remote field on our hunting club wiped out in a few days. Someone had a camera on it and there 14 deer, I think, at one time on it.

It didn't flood out that is for sure. Army worms maybe I guess not sure what it looks like after they been there. No hogs here and would be easy to tell if hogs had done it. A few deer tracks in the fields but not enough deer around here to have done that. Maybe the heat killed it maybe army worms, whatever did it it's gone without a trace.

If it was army worms I wish I had been here to see it so I would know what to look for in the future.

Watch for cow birds in hay fields or where people are bushhogging near you.

We don't have any cow birds up this way, or if we do I have never heard them called that. I did notice however a lot of crows more than normal being out in the fields for two or three days prior to us leaving last Saturday.
