I used to like to ride around the lake and look for “easy to hunt” ducks in sloughs close to the road. Had some bluewing teal pegged. They were there every morning. Then I pulled in there and they weren’t. While I was watching through binoculars, a teal came by with the afterburners kicked in. A bald eagle was chasing. It didn’t catch while I was watching and I don’t think it could. It was cool to see.
I watched a spotted fawn nurse opening week of gun season last year.
