That is a great buck.
Dark hocks and big neck, too. Was he exhibiting any signs of rutting behavior?

Actually he wasn't. he was with other bucks just cruising together. his hocks were staring to turn dark, but nothing like he was rutting yet. he didn't even smell unless you put your nose right on his tarsals. they are just now starting to hit scrapes at this place.

haha you right, you need to come see him in person Pat.
Anyhow he grossed at 148" and net was 136 5/8". 12 Scorable points, but main frame 9 point with 3 good kickers on the bases.

Beautiful deer!!! Congrats to your bro.

well i am no professional scorer. i just got the tape out and pulled up the score my rack and entered the measurements and that is what came out. still trying to think of a good taxidermist to do it, he has had to deal with me killing the bigger bucks over the past few years so i was happy he got him one, but def didn't want his one and first mounter to snub the rest of mine haha.
anyone have any good recommendations, it's his first mounter and wants it done right. no one around here really makes me excited with their work. it's more about mass production vs quality of the work.

It's along way to North West Alabama but Ron's Taxidermy is hard to beat 205-698-8311 Cabelas ask him to do their mounts for them he does an awesome job you want be disappointed. He is in Beaverton or Lamar County
