I don’t have near the texperience many of y’all have with ARs. But I ordered a complete upper and a complete lower from Palmetto State Armory during the Labor Day Sale. This should have been easy. Click click. Two pins and I got a gun.
You can get the front pin in or the back pin in. But you cannot get them both in at the same time. My brother has way more experience with ARs than me.
He couldn’t get them in either. He brought another AR over. We couldn’t get my upper or lower to match up with the known AR.
Any advice??
I’ve emailed PSA and waiting for a response. I don’t think the take returns after the FFL transfer has been done. This is a nice metal lower and a metal upper. Seems like it would be a nice gun if I could get the damn thing together.

Are they both the same gen of upper/lower? I think the generation one and two are not compatible together

They’re really close. Looks like they should go.
I’ll try to post links of what I ordered.

I had a similar issue with the rifle I order from PSA several months back. I finally got pissed and started using force combined with a rubber mallet to hit the pin in slowly until it was completed seated. I got the 223 Wylde upper and love it. The lower wouldn't hold the PMAGS at first but after some adjusting on the mag release and actually shooting it more made it all run smoother. Hope this helps. I am far from a gun smith myself, just an enthusiast.

Are the holes off up/down or side/side? I have had a couple that were tight up/down and slammed them shut a few times and they loosened up. Just a thought

this is why I dont buy into "a lower is a lower" BS. ill spend $20 or $30 more for a stripped lower that i know is gonna be in spec. Id be on the phone wanting a refund if the lower and the upper wouldnt fit a known in spec upper or lower they are both out of spec and i wouldnt want to roll the dice again. buy an Aero precision lower and throw a BCM or LMT upper on it.

I’m having hard time telling just where it’s off.
If you put front pin in first - which I think is standard way to go about it - there’s a gap you can see light through between upper and lower.
If you put rear pin in first, everything looks like it should go but you cannot get the front pin in.
I may consult a smith. Shouldn’t have to on new equipment.
I’m anxious to see what PSA says.

Sounds like the front pin holes are off either in the upper lower or both. You would think they would test fit them before they ever shipped. Surely they will make it right.

Well I bought a lower one day, upper the next. They shipped separately.

they should still be in spec all milspec uppers and lowers should interchange between each other no matter brand or production , QC missed something.

I bought a PSA & ordered the upper & lower separately at different times. Mine fit perfectly, I'm anxious to find out how their customer service treats you.

Something doesn’t make sense. I’ve bought several uppers and a couple of lowers from PSA and never had a problem. I’ve matched them with multiple lowers from different companies and never had them not fit. I’m interested to see what they say.

The pins came with the lower.

Oh. And Out back, if there was an emoji on here to give you the middle finger, I would be using that.

If we lived closer I'd show you how to put them together.
But try a local pawn shop, they probably gotta a guy who can put a round peg in a round hole. smile
