I don't know how much experience you have with the park, so forgive me if you are super-familiar already......Clingman's Dome is cool, but check the weather conditions before you make the hike up. We did it once and got to the top and visibility was like 10ft. It's paved all the way to the top, but it's steep in places and it's usually really crowded. You can get almost as good a view from the parking area around Newfound Gap. Laurel Falls is a fun hike. It's not especially difficult (you'll see plenty of elderly people and small kids doing it, if that tells you anything) but it's not paved, so you get more of the "hiking experience" with a pretty waterfall at the end. Go over to the Oconaluftee Visitor Center just before Cherokee....there's a big pasture next to it and Elk frequent that area, as well as some of the other clearings along that road. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/x3sMT4r.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/RKn4CeD.jpg)
