I raised two girls. I've heard it all.
Eventually they stopped saying, "it ain't fair" because my reply was, "the fair" is where you pin a ribbon on a pig. And with girls, privacy always comes to an issue.
"But dad, it's MY room, MY car, MY cellphone". Too bad, I pay the bills and I'll inspect any of them, anytime I please.
I guess you could say I actually was an example to my kids. They both have their own kids now, and I have heard both of them tell their kids, "because I said so"! smile
