It's not our job to be an example to our kids. It's our job to raise them to be better than ourselves and hopefully not make our mistakes. My daughters will tell you that the number one reason, for anything, in my house was "because I said so".
They did what I said, not what I did.
When they're adults, they can make their own decisions and their own mistakes.
While under my roof, they did as I said, not as I did.
