I bailed. Was hunting edge of timber company lands and the knuckleheads are still closed after getting some rain. Didn't like being pinned down. Probably try to get my son on one at the chicory field. Was about 70 in there last night, 5 legal for sure.

Last night put a couple guys on our field with no luck. Today I hit a few small private chunks with no luck. I then went to some state land and finally got into some elk. Called in a rag horn and a couple cows. Too bad timberlands still closed. I'll get one though. I may have to just settle on a smaller bull. Will see as things play out.

Well, hiked into a spot this morning onl6 to get socked in by fog for 3.5 hours. Only saw 2 deer when it lifted. Gonna try to get my son on one tonight. Cool part, I work sat/sun again...

The reason the cam says LSU Sux is my friend has a guest up here hunting from Louisiana. I was sending him trail cam pics that he was forwarding to his buddies lol. I also had one named BAMA, haha

Well, the timberlands still shut down. I've been dodging State Land, not dealing with crowds. So, I've done a few quick hitters with only a 4x4 spotted. The rest of the elk have been too far away and on closed lands.

Monday my son and I did a death march up hill for 3 hours. The only elk we saw were a mile away.

Today I rode by the chicory field and saw a bull I recognized and will shoot. He's got good fronts but, weak tops. They crossed the river and so did I. I didn't want to blow them out so I bailed outta there. Sitting on the side on the field right now with a good wind hoping he crosses the river in the daylight. I gotta surprise for him unless I miss.

On of the views on my death march. This stuff is tough on bad knees even walking logging roads.
