Another thing: I absolutely HATE the current rule about filling out the Harvest Record before moving the dead deer.
That rule is total bs and goes against common sense and common human behavior. We have unintentionally violated that rule countless times. Because when a deer is shot, killed, etc, the only thing the hunter and his comrades are thinking is recover the deer as quickly and quietly as possible. And get it to the front of your hunting property where you can then deal with field dressing the deer and loading it onto a truck for transport. THAT is when I think about filling out the Harvest Record --- before I drive off the property.
The LAST thing I think about during dead deer recovery and transport to the front of property is finding an ink pen and filling out the report.
The rule should be changed to hunter must fill out report before leaving property where the deer was killed.
