How do we know hunters aren't using GC?
Just because the numbers are far below those from the decades old elusive survey doesn't mean that GC is underused. Perhaps it indicates the elusive survey was severely flawed.
Or maybe the percentage of hunters not using GC is lower than stated.
What evidence is being used to determine GC participation?
I understand what you are saying and seems you just wanting a casual conversation. Simply, we don't know the accuracy of the numbers. But going into this there was always a question of accuracy. With any system such as this there would be question.
What evidence is being used to determine GC participation? Well, this is where its going to lose you because you have stated your opinions on these numbers before.
In 2016-17, first year of GC, there was an estimated APPROXIMATELY 235,511 deer killed and only 82,492 reported.
In 2017-18 there was an estimated APPROXIMATELY 253,363 deer killed and only 76,009 reported.
Those estimate numbers is where you fail to believe as stated in the past. Me?? I honestly don't know. What I do know is we are going 3 years into this and here we are still hashing it out. Also, if year 3 follows the previous two years with estimated less than 40% participating, then what??
