Alabama’s wildlife folks should look a few states over. SC has physical tags as well as a call I system, and they enforce their system through the processors. Processors are responsible for ensuring deer are tagged and properly recorded. Processor tries to skirt the law, they get popped with a hefty fine. Hunter gets caught with an untagged deer, they get whacked with a hefty fine. Additional tags can be bought and honestly they waste a lot of paper with the amount of doe tags they give every hunter who buys a license.
Folks that don’t want to follow bag limits or take deer illegally will find a way, but I like how SC’s system makes it tougher to skirt the system. That = TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT involvement. What a joy killer.
