This seems like it happens frequently to these type of gun safes. It ain't the first time I've seen it posted on here.

It's more the electronic lock than Cannon. I've seen some of the expensive ones fail also.
Dial only for me.

Electronic locks - This can and does happen to all of them I believe. It is just a fact of life with the electronic locks on these things doesn't matter the brand.
I think the locksmith drills holes in the door and unlocks the safe which pretty much ruins it. I haven't found out yet myself. Let us know how this goes.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Locksmith told me it could be fixed. But like the OP it was gonna cost me a little over $400 bucks, and i didn't feel comfortable with a stranger opening my Safe........

Tell ya what I'm not gonna knock my 14 year old sentry safe, it has worked flawlessly, and if it did ever give me problems, i have the keys locked away in another safe (with dial lock) at another location...

I have one with the electronic keypad, but it also came with a KEY that you can use if this happens.
Did yours not come with a key too? Is there a place for a key if you slide the electronic keypad off?

If I owned enough guns to justify a safe it would be the dial variety too. I lost all mine in a tragic canoeing accident. I'll be hunting this year with a switch and two lawn darts.

Mines has a key compartment hidden behind the key pad just for this reason. Did yours come with a key, if so remove the key pad and you can unlock it.
