You absolutely should be able to tap into SS for maternity leave. You should have access to every dime you put in, not a penny more.
We pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in SS and can’t touch it until a certain age that they continue to change. They hope you die before you ever spend your contribution. I can’t be in favor of that. Give people access to their contribution. Key words here Reb, " You should have access to every dime YOU put in......." Problem with SS is way too many get checks who haven't paid in a dime.

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
