Marco Rubio has proposed allowing people to tap into their SS benefit to pay for Maternity leave, great, let's see if we can bankrupt the program faster than expected, what a wonderful idea, let me see if i can buy some votes at the same time. Never mind there are Deadbeat people on SS disability right now who are not disabled. If you want children then you plan and you prepare. I never had children, did not want the stress but I will be damned if I as a tax payer want to keep funding the cost of raising someone's kid.

But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I sold cars at a national chain for about 2 weeks in between jobs once, you wouldn't believe the number of folks who'd come in where a whole family of 6 or 7 was on SSI disability or crazy checks as the sole source of documented income. When they didn't have enough income to qualify for credit, about 90% of the able-bodied males on disability had other cash income from landscaping, lawn mowing, etc.

You absolutely should be able to tap into SS for maternity leave. You should have access to every dime you put in, not a penny more.
We pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in SS and can’t touch it until a certain age that they continue to change. They hope you die before you ever spend your contribution. I can’t be in favor of that. Give people access to their contribution.

Problem with SS is way too many get checks who haven't paid in a dime.
"Why do you ask"?
Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

Our son is 10 months old and y’all might not believe it but guess what we did? F-ing prepared for mama to stay home and take care of our baby until he started school. That’s 4 years not a couple months FYI. Dang so working hard to keep a good job to take care of the small human i made is how you are supposed to do things? Who’d have thunk it. WTF are they thinking? Their bulldoodoo programs already pay more for the more gremlins you can spit out the better. rebel man I do agree with you in that it’s supposed to be our money because we paid it in so we should be able to use it. Guess what it’s not, it’s a fraking ponzi scheme our government runs so we’re good right?

Itll make you mad as fire if you let it.I have seen so many folks on some type of goverment aid and there is not a thing in the world wrong with them.I dont see how it continues when there is more receiving than there is contributing. Ya know i hope these folks realize especially the ones that are allowing it to happen for whatever reason. One day they are going to have to stand before their maker and answer for it..

Yeah, and social security should not be mandatory. The government should have never been able to force the American population into contributing to a federal retirement program. I would be ok if they scrapped the whole thing for my generation and let me invest my portion.

But since we all know that will never happen, giving folks more SS is a terrible idea.

Problem with SS is way too many get checks who haven't paid in a dime. The only folks that receive a Social Security benefit they didn't work and earn are dependent/surviving children, in some cases current of former spouses or surviving spouses. In all cases someone worked and paid into the system for that benefit to be paid to their family. You may be thinking about SSI, which is basically a welfare program. Folks get that who have never worked a day in their life. Pisses me off too. Processing those claims is what I do when I ain't working on guns.

I’d be happy if the government would give me every dime back that I’ve paid in, and just let me take care of myself and my family. I’ve got a good bit of life insurance, short term and long term disability insurance, should something happen. Other than that I prefer to invest my money myself instead of letting crooked politicians steal it, I mean take care of it.
