Ain't nobody got time for no soggy azz bread (aka French toast). Should be banned throughout Merica. Pancakes number one Agree on banning soggy arse bread...but good french toast isn't soggy. No but put enough syrup on mine to make it a soggy mess! Good syrup, especially that sugar cane dark amber syrup....dang I want to drive to Louisiana right now. It's a very bold flavor...but I love it.

I prefer my French toast over any of them. I don’t make it near as much as I should. Got me craving some now! I don’t discriminate against A good stack of pancakes or waffles either. The more butter and syrup, the better.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

Me and the wife were debating on what was th best eating breakfast Sunday. She’s a sucker for a pecan waffle. I like good French toast but I will say that if I go somewhere that does pancakes or waffles better, I’ll go with what I remember them doing best. Last time I got French toast from Cracker Barrel it was a poor excuse and pitiful. Got it at the huddle house in scottsboro and it was decent Sunday morning.
Use to be a place here in scottsboro that made some really good French toast. Fireside was the name of the restaurant.. typical breakfast dive that you were likely to get cigerette ashes on you table. Lol. It eventually shut down or sold out tho.
Pancakes and waffles seem to be more consistent eating out so sometimes I just go with those out of fear of then not having good frenchtoast of someone that cant cook it right.
Not to long ago I made some bomb sourdough French toast. I’m gonna have to get back on that real soon.

Toast is to be eaten from a toaster and served with butter and peach preserves(unless it is at the waffle House and then nothing is needed).

Waffles or French toast...either are fine by me but I can't stand pancakes.

True story. Back in the 80's due to budget cuts the school stopped paying for feeding the football team before games. The next Friday night the local greasy spoon offer to feed the entire team a pancake supper. Being he-man football players most of the team eat more than their share of pancakes. A couple of hours later those pancakes swelled up and most of the starters were puking on the field before end of the first quarter.
Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.
Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.
Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

My first choice would be Pecan Waffles with fresh deep fried chicken fingers on top and drizzled with maple syrup. My second choice would be French toast made with thick pieces of day old French bread soaked in fresh eggs, cream, cinnamon and a little vanilla mixed in, and then grilled on the flat top until crispy on the outside. Topped with powdered sugar and drizzled with real maple syrup. Served with a steaming hot cup of coffee and chicory with heavy cream in it. My third choice would be Mrs. Irish's homemade blueberry pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup. But I could seriously eat some chicken and waffles right now. Edit: Ha! I had to search back in my Flickr account to find the last time I made some and it has been a while. I actually served collard greens with them. ![[Linked Image]](https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1675/25402241881_fae0d4bb53_k.jpg)
