Go ahead and cast me into the fiery pits of hell for saying it…….but the phrase “We’re praying for you” is worn out and has been used so much on social media by attention seekers and for attention seekers that it just doesn’t hold the same meaning anymore. That’s sad too because there are definitely some folks out there who really need lifting up during hard times…..not when their cat runs away or their kid has a snotty nose. It makes me roll my eyes too when people constantly say it who then don’t bother showing any other Christian values in any other aspect of their behavior…..”You’rea fk idiot and I hate this and that,,,,cut their heads off…hate, hate, hate”…….But we’re praying for you.

Any of the new trendy words and or phrases. Bae, on fleek, brah, etc.
Also hate the trend toward Southern kids trying to lose their accent and sound like every other region. I cringe when I hear these girls say "thenk yow" or "thenks" instead of thank you
I am also irritated by uptalk, where every statement sounds like a question.

A guy I work with loves to say, "we've done our due diligence" and another one he will use on conference calls is, "so, what is the ask"? Why not just say, "what do you need us to do?" I can't stand to here either of those.

In my mind if someone asks you for your prayers then it’s a really big deal and should not be thrown around lightly. It means that they’re having a hard time with something in life enough that they’re reaching out to someone else. What that person really needs to know is that they’re not alone and that others are there for them. People who need too much attention have just about ruined the value of it now though. They’re not going through any kind of real troubles…..they’re just saying….”Hey y’all, I need another dose of attention.”……They throw something out there like baby so and so has a snotty nose….please pray for her…..or whatever minor chit that we all deal with on a daily basis. It ain’t even about the baby or anything else….it’s just another way of getting “likes” and propping up their own self-worth. Look at me and show me attention so I can feel good about myself.
