Any place that uses white or vinegar based sauce should be arrested for pork abuse. Red sauce or no sauce should be required by law. Damn yankees
10--4, if it aint red sauce it aint BBQ!!!!

Monroe county's should have been Cherry Street BBQ,he's only open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month,it's a walk in joint where you go in and order you're stuff and they get it right then for you, there usually a real long line when you're there but it moves pretty fast and is worth the wait,he has the best smoked chicken I've ever eaten and all of his BBQ is really good and it's good every time,he could make a killing if he was open full time

Another one that isn’t any good is Top Hat. It was good 30 years ago. Their sauce is the worst I have ever tasted. They have good food, Just not the BBQ. I agree the bbq sucks. The sauce taste like watered down tomato paste. Now their fried catfish I like Fried catfish and hamburger steak are my usual there. Their cheeseburger is good too.

All bbq tastes pretty much the same to me. Only difference I can tell is how moist it is You must put sugar in your cornbread as well Everytime I go to a bbq place everyone talks about how good the food is then they drowned the meat in sauce. They don't like bbq they like the sauce

They're absolutely right about Autauga and Dallas County. And it's appropriate that Jim's BBQ is the very first one on the list, cause it's the best I've ever had.
Honestly never would have thought to stop at Jims. I drive right past on the way to the lease and never knew.... Sams in fayette used to be my favorite joint when we hunted in Berry. Actually made it a point to get smoked wings on my birthday every year. Green Top BBQ is great Stop at Jim's. It's good. My parents lived a few miles from there in Pletcher so we ate plenty of it.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Herds bbq on 22 in maplesville, chilton county, blows jims lanies everything else in the area out of the water. Best bbq i have ever had. Is that the little shack beside Dollar General? If so, I've driven by there many times, and there's often quite a crowd there. I'll have to try it out. He has good Q, I have never eaten @ Jim's, I don't get down that way much, I will have to make a point of it, I noticed they had Tin Top on the list, the problem with them these day's is that the ribs may be good one day and crappy the next, I don't eat pulled pork much at all, I can say when they get the ribs right they can't be beat imo....

Good BBQ doesn’t need sauce. This is true. Although I like white sauce and red sauce or even pepper sauce on my pork sometimes, if it's good then slathering it in any sauce is unnecessary. It's like like putting ketchup on a steak, which is abominable.

Good BBQ doesn't need sauce.
If you slather it up with a red sauce you are no longer eating BBQ you are eating sauce. At least with a white or vinegar sauce you can still taste the meat.
It's like putting ketchup on steak... dern right Clem.
Any list that doesn't have the BBQ place up there in New Market on it is an abomination.

Good BBQ doesn’t need sauce. Agree. Doesn't need a "rub", either.

Good BBQ doesn’t need sauce. Agree. Doesn't need a "rub", either. I tend to agree with this, too. Truly good smoked pork or meat doesn't need rubs, marinades, slathered sauces before-during-after, or anything else IF it's done right and is good. That said, I'm not against folks doing the rubs, marinades or slathered sauces if that floats their boats. Some are really good and I think it's good to try different things. I like a ribeye with nothing but salt and pepper cooked medium rare, but occasionally will mix up some low-sodium Dale's with a little white pepper and crushed garlic for a marinade. But in general, grilled meat doesn't need stuff added to it.

Houston County is right, The BBQ Shack is the best hands down. I see where Larry's made the list in Andalusia and we have two of them in Dothan and that's the nastiest place in town to eat.

I laughed at the Sumter county choice. Yes it is really good but it is done by a church and only available one Saturday a year. I guess there is not a restaurant in Sumter with good BBQ.
But the Panola BBQ is really good.

But the Panola BBQ is really good. It's because that website had to pick something to include and no one there ever has been to Sumpter County, wants to go there or would sully themselves being in that area unless they were writing about how The Man is holding someone down.

You could make a lot of money on cullman if you opened up a good BBQ joint Cullman has good BBQ. Whitts bbq on the south side of town. Even though its not called whitts anymore its the same stuff. I love those sandwiches with the vinegar sauce. I didn’t realize that place was still there they did have some decent BBQ.

Cullman doesn’t have a Whitts. It is called Southern Hickory. It’s real similar to Whitts. The best bbq in Cullman is smoked in a gas station parking lot in Berlin. It’s called Mad Dog Mikes

It’s called Mad Dog Mikes Same food just a different name. It was whitts before they move to the current location. Its a little different kind of BBQ. I consider theirs the sliders of BBQ sandwiches, they're small and you can't eat just one.

This man speaks the truth. Great pulled pork and ribs. I've eaten there twice and wasn't overly impressed. I'll try it again though. Maybe I was there on off days.

A lot of people don’t like it because it’s not red sauce but I like it. I’m not picky though and like to switch it up
