All bbq tastes pretty much the same to me. Only difference I can tell is how moist it is Yep. Bama BBQ doesn't impress me. There's some good out there, but the majority makes an attempt to get a little smoke taste, then surrounds it by the cheapest sides they can. Most beans are no better than the ones I had in an elementary school.

Tallapoosa County is just wrong. Sho'Nuff BarBQue is Sho'Nuff terrible. The meat is always overcooked and super dry. Sauces are bland. IMO they've been living on name alone since they moved from the old spot 25yrs ago. Good Ol'Boys serves far better BarBQue out of a gas station of all places.

Johnny’s sucks. Big Bob Gibson’s sucks. I have eaten at 10 of the places on the list and of those ten, those two I wouldn’t go back to. Agree 100% BBG's is some of the worst I've had at a restaurant. Best I've had in Madison county, or just about anywhere, is the rib sandwich at Mary's in Gurley. Jim n nicks has some very good food, but that does not include their bbq. Average at best.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

First, who reads AL.com. Second, I gave them a click so they got their goal (clicks)...and this is all fluff.
Typical. I realize they have a decidedly liberal slant, but do you know of another sight to get state news?

I don't read that website so I don't give a rip about their recommendations.
For all of the incessant "hate the media!" and "fake news!' bullchit that goes on, some of y'all just love this site and can't turn away.

True. But it can be hard to avert your eyes from a train wreck also.

Agree. Hard to find these days. Just give me the news. I don't care for the opinions either way. I can form my own opinion.

Another one that isn’t any good is Top Hat. It was good 30 years ago. Their sauce is the worst I have ever tasted. They have good food, Just not the BBQ.

They're absolutely right about Autauga and Dallas County. And it's appropriate that Jim's BBQ is the very first one on the list, cause it's the best I've ever had.
Honestly never would have thought to stop at Jims. I drive right past on the way to the lease and never knew.... Sams in fayette used to be my favorite joint when we hunted in Berry. Actually made it a point to get smoked wings on my birthday every year. Green Top BBQ is great
