I finally drew one too...with 28 preference points. I skipped putting in one year back before they instituted the pp system, but have entered every other year without drawing even an alternate slot. I’m glad they don’t show a running total of all your receipts...it might dampen the excitement

Congrats to those who got selected. You'll have a very cool experience.

the problem with this, or any other function of the dept, is that the ALDCNR has lost any trust from the sportsmen of Alabama. Simply put, no one trusts them to be on the up and up. Period. Damn shame.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I drew for West Central and a friend drew for Southwest. He’s never drawn a tag, and from hunting both areas in the past, I’m going to decline my West Central tag, hang onto my preference points, and we’re going to hunt the Southwest zone.

Damn shame. I don’t deny it has raised a lot of unanswered questions, but I at least appreciated the effort to bring in the point system. I was definitely tired of the free for all lottery they had for the first 8 or so years, and would have likely quit applying if not for the change.

I’ve applied the last couple years. Not selected this year again. Looked at my status and it says I have 1 preference point. What the hell ?

I have put in every year, and yet again, I was not selected. I have friends who have been drawn multiple times.

Whats the formula for preference point accrual?
What year is this so that what is max preference points you could have to date if you put in every year?

Damn shame. And one is left to wonder why, with the "I'll kill one if I want to... I ain't signing nothin.... I'll hunt kill whatever I want..... I'll kill those damn dogs if...... A bag of rocks will....." mentality in our state.

I did hunt with a buddy last year and was told at the weigh in that if you have 65 points, you should be drawn this year. I have 65 points haha

I thought I read that somewhere, that If you don't accept it you get to keep your points? Is that correct? I was finally selected for the delta this year with 65 preference points. It sure did take awhile and of course when I do get selected I have a conflict on the day of the mandatory training.
