spray paint squirrels wont chew on anything that is spray painted. I learned that roofing theyll chew up a pipe flashing in a year or two paint it they leave it alone. Dont know why it works but it does. ive got some barrel feeders i strap to trees i put sheet metal behind also to keep them from climbing to the timed broadcaster also.
I had squirrels chew the paint off my treestands and then chew down into the aluminum.
