This morning. It was sweet after fooling with the recurve the last several weeks. I’d forgot I could shoot a bow that well. The arrows were kind of all where they were supposed to be. I do think shooting the recurve can make you shoot the compound better.

My son has shot mostly recurves all his life but when he turned about 10 I got him a compound set at about 35/40 lbs so he could hunt.
Few yrs later he returned to the recurve.
Shooting the compound actually helped him develope good form.

Main thing is enjoying shooting...whatever the weapon of choice.

Can't argue with that logic.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

Bunch of hungry women since ya'll can only shoot 20-25yds...

Just messing with ya. I called a nice 5x5 bull in for my buddy 2yrs ago. His range was 30 and the bull stopped about 38. It was fun though

Hahaha hey it’s partly true. You do have limited range. The furthest shot I have made was at 41 yards on a hunt in open flat terrain in South AL. I wouldn’t attempt that shot in 99.9% of areas in Jackson county. As to your buddy, I had a similar thing happen to me last year. Big old buck stayed right outside of my comfort zone and like old bucks do got some wisdom and turned around and walked away.

Must admit some times I get flustered with the recurve but I haven’t shot a compound in years, dont plan to go back.

I own a dozen stick bows and five compounds. Every great now and then I'll shoot one of the Hoyts just because, like shooting a 22 rifle with a peep sight. I cut my bird finger real bad a few years ago and hunted that season with a compound and some with my recurve and a release.

I've seen die hard trad guys say a stick bow is just as deadly on game as a compound. All I can say is horsechitt. Trads don't have the range or accuracy of a compound unless you are Howard Hill.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

You got that right. Lot harder to hit the target at 40 yrds with a recurve or longbow.
Stickbows are good huntin weapons though.
As long as you're out enjoying the outdoors or shooting the bow, that's what matters whether it's a longbow, compound or crossbow.
I love shooting guns for that matter.

For sure. That’s part of the appeal for some people. I guess it sort of
like why some guys prefer a compound over a 300 mag with a $800 optic
