He has done an unbelievable job of capitalizing off a few pretty decent songs he wrote and performed in the 1970's and turning that image into a lifestyle brand for people who fancy themselves as wannabe beach bums. He's basically built an empire and a lifestyle brand off of a few hit songs. Amazing accomplishment for a guy from Pascagoula, MS.
Yeah, a few of his songs like 'A Pirate Looks at 40', 'He Went to Paris', 'Son of a Son of a Sailor' are really good, well-written songs......................but then you get stuff like 'Cheeseburger in Paradise'.....
But sometimes it's just fun to have a drink, listen to dumb music and pretend you're chillin' on the beach.
