He'll run across one one day that break him of that.
My 11 year pointer has been bitten by two copperheads. He will still attack and kill any snake that comes into "his" yard. I wouldn't mind if he just made me aware of the snake, but he hates them too much for that. He's gonna kill it.
I had a lab back in high school that got bit by so many copperheads it didn't even bother him anymore, but he came back up to the house one day with fang marks almost 2" apart...that one very nearly done him in!
