Try falling on one and it sticking in your chest to the point you stand up and its still in you. I was sick for 7 days and thought I was gonna die. Miserable

Was you running from a snake? I'm glad nobody took a picture of me dancing around on one foot with a rod in one hand and trying to pull this fish out of my shoe with the other hand. After I took my shoe off and it was still pretty hard to get him out of my shoe I guess that they're directionally barbed? I could imagine getting stuck by one of those any where on the body would be a good bit of pain when you pulled it out

The owner of Mac's Marina on Gulf Beach Highway was gill netting for mullet years ago and netted a school of hardheads. They piled them in a pile and was going to discard them and his dad accidentally fell into the pile of catfish. His body went in to convulsions and he had to be life flighted to the hospital. Pretty horrible!!!

Just some observations. Yes Mo Shaver passed away last year. All you catfish lovers...go to any tackle store and get you a Jhook style dehooker like the deckhands use on offshore boats. Don't even bring him onboard the boat. Just grab your leader and run the thing down to the hook bend and twist...problem solved.
The Bama Beach Bum kid can fish for sure. In a couple years, the crowd around him will be like Forrest Gump on his cross-country run or the Pied Piper....For the life of me, I can't understand guys making a living at inshore fishing and showing all the spots that they fish because there just aren't that many. I know it's to attract customers but it's a self-defeating method just like groupon.

Grandma said...Always keep a gun close at hand, you just never know when you might run across some varmint that needs killing...
