Do carpenter bees measure to the 1/32 of an inch?
Probably do. When I built my house I had a scaffold in the front made out of 2x6s to stand on and run the cornice. Some bees bored in and when I tore the scaffold down I later saw dead bees on the ground. I cut that board up for some blocks and their hole went straight up, made a perfect 90 and went perfectly straight down the center of that 2x6 for about a foot to the nest.
