A ton of great advice here, but I don't recall this being mentioned... Learn to hear drumming. It is a skill that a turkey hunter cannot put a value on. As everyone knows, when birds don't gobble it doesn't mean they aren't there. Move slowly/quietly and listen for the "vrrrrrooooooooommm" - it is a dead giveaway that a longbeard is close, unless you are like me and think you hear it in Publix. It will help tremendously, especially when birds circle you and when a birds has gobbled 100 times in 30 minutes and then shuts up. Apologize if previously mentioned.
