I am sure this has been asked a dozen times on here, but want in the hell is the best way you have to found to get rid of these bastages and keep them gone? There are everywhere around my place right now. I noticed while weed eating that they have a hole behind just about every single post on my privacy fence.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Carpenter bee trap and a tennis racket. Badmitton racket is better, lighter and faster to swing. You don't need all that KE for a bee...

The racket idea is a lot better than burning the fence down I had in mind. Gonna build some traps this evening and maybe John McEnroe some of em as well.

I bought 3 of the carpenter bee traps a few years ago to put around my shop because they were everywhere and boring holes big time. They have worked really well for me. I have not noticed any new holes since i have put them up. I dump them out once a year. Dont know if it is true or jot but they say leave them in there when they die because their scent will attract others. Hope this helps.

I wish the company that makes those Bug-a-Salt guns that shoot salt (for killing flies and such) would make an upgraded one that shot kosher salt and hard enough to kill a carpenter bee, wasp, horse fly, etc.

If you shoot a carpenter bee with Kosher salt do they still get to go to heaven?

I have tried the bug-a-salt and a unit that attaches to the end of your air rifle (can't remember the name). The latter was much more powerful but was still not what I was hoping for. I have tried handgun and rifle blanks but the only thing that REALLY worked were 12 gauge shotgun blanks. Killed the bastages from 6 feet if I did my part. Expensive but ohhh what fun!

I put up the traps and they wouldn't use it at first. I found that you have to take a brillo pad or cotton and tear it in small pieces and cover the holes they already have or they will continue to use the holes they already have. I caught most of them after figuring that out.
