A German Shepherd and doberman are pretty easy to identify, " pitbulls" are comprised of about 6 different breeds, that ain't including dogs that are similar such as some bulldogs, mastiffs and boxers. I mean even I have trouble, distinguishing between, stapposhires, Americans staphoshire, staffosherd bull terriers, Americans pitbull terrier. Bulleies, which are comprised of standard, exotic, pocket, and xl bullies. Then you got variations due to mix breeding. Factor all that into other breeds that look similar and it's very easy to get them confused. This also isn't considering the variations from breeds changing over time. For instance the German Shepards of today has changed so much from the original breed 60 years ago that they are now referred to as German Shepard type dogs and probably the reason leo are choosing other dogs to fill there k9 spots. I don't know why animal control just doesn't pull some blood and run dna tests on the dog. That would eliminate all this guessing and finger pointing.
