I only have real life experience with three pit bull attacks. Two was children, totally unprovoked and unexpected. The third was my own attack, which ended with a dead dog.
I know for a fact that all three were indeed pit bulls, not mutts.
So that's what I base my opinions on.
I've seen other dogs bite, sure. My bird dog has bitten a couple of people. But there's a big difference between a bite and a deadly attack.
Exactly. I try to judge on personal experience and not hearsay. When that one got after my Lab, it wasn't a dogs being dogs type of thing by any stretch of the imagination. It was a full blown, growling, shaking, nasty ass attack, which happened in the blink of an eye. I almost felt bad cause my friend got rid of the dog shortly thereafter. He said after witnessing that, he could never fully trust the dog around his kids.
