You people are no different than the left wing gun controllers
I don’t have any experience with the them, or desire to but the New York Times said they’re dangerous so the should be illegal

Pits are not for everyone, owners should be held financially and criminally responsible for the actions of they’re pets whatever that pet is.

When I had catch dogs they were contained and controlled, they knew I didn’t approve aggressive without my approval just like you’re cocker or lab should.

They growl I show my dissatisfaction with a heavy hand whether at another dog or human. They bite a human without being told they die.

Most dogs in these articles are just not pits plain and simple but the media knows you have no interest in mutt or chihuahua bites

And no he doesn't own a pitbull.

Hey now, don't nobody to disrespecting my dover man pincher! They wouldn't bite nobody. They will hold a baby bird in their mouth while snuggling with a kitten.

So he spent 10 years in a book. Sounds like he should be able to read and state some facts instead of being a smartass.

If that we’re true you’d think outta the hundreds that I’ve owned, at least one would have bitten someone just one bite in 37+ years of owning as many as 30-35 at a time and yet it never happened. NOT ONE TIME without my direction and only once did that happen. Granted I had yo use a break stick to get the dog off the guy I sicked him on but it was completely justified in the fact that he was in my house at 1 am with knife and i didn’t know him.

Pit bulls bite once and hold. It’s they’re nature. Rarely are multiple bites, ungodly rarely from a pit.

i just wanna add 2 things that i got from the article sbs posted a while back. I'm sure the internet pit experts already know this due to there vast knowledge of the subject, but just so everybody else will know as well.

1... Our search strategy involved scanning
the text of newspapers and periodicals for certain words
and word combinations likely to represent human DBRF
followed by a review of articles containing those terms.

2.. Numerator data may be biased for 4
reasons. First, the human DBRF reported here are likely
underestimated; prior work suggests the approach
we used identifies only 74% of actual cases.1,2 Second,
to the extent that attacks by 1 breed are more newsworthy
than those by other breeds, our methods may
have resulted in differential ascertainment of fatalities
by breed. Third, because identification of a dog’s breed
may be subjective (even experts may disagree on the
breed of a particular dog), DBRF may be differentially
ascribed to breeds with a reputation for aggression.
Fourth, it is not clear how to count attacks by crossbred
dogs. Ignoring these data underestimates breed
involvement (29% of attacking dogs were crossbred
dogs), whereas including them permits a single dog to
be counted more than once.

those where copy and pasted directly from the article

I've never in my life been around a pit that was aggressive towards people and I was even raised around fighting pits. I love pits and all mine have been as sweet tempered as could be. Labs are dogs I wouldn't dare own. I've personally seen them to be the most aggressive breed. I saved my 3 year old nephew from a lab and if I had not been right there to shield his head and upper torso until someone heard my screams for help, because he would not let go, the dog would have definitely killed him. He had to have multiple surgeries. My husband went and shot the dog immediately. It wasn't our dog or at our home. Pits are more capable of causing greater harm when they attack and I think that's why people are more fearful of them. I

Cool, it always puts a smile on my face when someone that owns an aggressive breed of dogs posts them.

Bring some proof that pit bulls were involved and not just You drinking the Kool aid that the press gives you.
I’m sure you have way more experience with the breed than I do and I know you would have absolutely no use for reality in the issue you’ve chosen to push.

In really not trying to bash you either I just know better than to buy what you’re selling.
Again I’ve truly owned hundreds of these dogs for almost 4 decades with no issues none

You’d think 1 out of all those time bombs would have gone off. Just 1.

I don’t think they’re for all owners but irresponsible owners are in fact the issue when most dogs attack regardless of breed.

I’ll never change your mind and don’t care that I don’t you should just ask yourself are you really different than the anti gun crowd or are you just excusing your behavior based on the same beliefs they stand on.

Based on statistics not many people could have had a better chance of getting attacked by one than me and most of my family up until I quit pig hunting and sold all my dogs. 30-35 grown well bred, well fed well disciplined pits at my house for over 3 decades plus pups. Many of y’all don’t have that much experience with anything on this planet but your gonna push an agenda based on bs and false, sensationalized news reports

Pit bulls and rotwellers are responsible for 67% of deaths of human attacks. Chiuallas lead the way in number of actually biteing folks.

So I went back and looked. All the sources were credited to Pinterest. Solid. I normally don’t comment on these threads and once again I’m sorry I did.

I don't know what sets pits off or what doesn't...I don't care. I've got too many things of my own to worry about and do to waste any time wondering if a pit is going to bite me or attack any of my animals. It comes in my yard, it's killed straight out of hand.
Not just pits, though...pretty much any dog I don't know. I have a whole buncha animals that I like a helluva lot more than some stray. If you live close to me and like your dog, keep him in your yard. All that said, several of my neighbors have dogs...very seldom do any of them ever come into my yard, and the few times they do, they usually come to me and I take them back home. If they show too much interest in any of my animals, they won't make it home. While I've turned literally dozens of strays inside out over the years, only once have I killed a dog I knew.
