They are supposed to do exactly what they did. And I will choose not to watch or support them in any way whatsoever.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

Think of all the blown elbows and knees, broken fingers, forearms, and collarbones...I can't imagine why any parent who claims to care would even let their kids play football! I'll let mine play. To be honest, I caught in baseball from the time I was in 9-10 little league until I graduated high school and I have a lot more problems from that. Kids are fat and lazy already so I'm all for a sport like football. I played and in all honesty probably started too young but, it taught me a lot of discipline and the ability to work as a team.
I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. Theres a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts. Ronald Reagan

I figure those still watching NFL are kinda like local politicians still running as democrats. They ain't getting my vote cause they've had ample time to leave that communist party. Still calling yourself a Democrat tells me you obviously support that platform. Still watching the NFL tells me that you obviously squat to pee and listen to the national anthem. But yet you own and support John Deere tractors, Chevrolet trucks, etc.... Look and see where they spend and donate their money. It's public record. John Deere is a huge donar to the Democratic Party. I'm not picking at you Outback, just pointing out it's easy to criticize an organization you aren't interested in, all while financially supporting another company that financially contributes to the very things, people, and political parties you are against.

I’m still confused on what the hell the nFL as an organization has to do with a few people kneeling a few times during the National Anthem. (And no matter what anyone tries to say, it was a very small % of people, and didn’t last but a few weeks)
Suspend them? Fire them? No business in the USA could do that and not get their ass sued off. that’s not an opinion, that’s a fact
I can understand boycotting if the NFL office organized a protest or something

Well, I care, I don't think any parent wants their kid to be injured, but I will let them play. There are a lot of sports, not just football, that can cause injury. Should I not let them drive for fear of being involved in a wreck?

Where do you draw the line with your boycotts?

Based on what? An employer can most definitely fire someone for protesting a work related function...that is a FACT as well.

I worked 30 years for a company who would absolutely discipline an employee for publicity voicing their politics on company time. And I support an employers who do so. You're representing your employer, you should act accordingly.

During the time I served the public in general only showed disrespect for our guys in uniform. Our Country seems to have turned back in that direction. I have no respect for those guys, most have never had a real job, only played a game. Respecting those that have serve and do serve is important. Without a Military and the working class those jerks wouldn't be able to make millions. I find it hard to think they have suffered. Most can't keep their crap straight and are constantly in trouble, whether it be breaking the law or beating their wives or girlfriends. I don't think I'd want my kid to look up to that and make a bunch of hoods role models. I love football, but I like College ball, not the NFL type. They died when they chose not to stand for our Country. Too many men have died for our Flag and dammit they deserve respect! They earned it! Gotta ride with the perch on this one.

Also, those players are part of a collective bargaining agreement (union) that would not allow them to be fired for their actions.

You're representing your employer, you should act accordingly. While I agree with you, if you are part of a union, you are protected especially in some of the states in this country.

Ok Scott. You’re the “expert” on everything. Im not an expert on everything. But, I know how collective bargaining works and I understand the laws in states other than Alabama protect employees.

I can say that it is probably most of it though. I know football had little to do with it compared to catching.

Last I checked the kids going into the NFL this year didn't do squat to deserve hate. Further, the majority of the players are good people. I cannot label them all thugs or call them unpatriotic because of the few jackasses that act stupid. I wouldn't want to be held responsible or labeled for what someone else does. Nor would you.
With that said, I didn't watch a single game last year. I was protesting the LEAGUE and the leagues LEADERSHIP for allowing the handful of jackasses to stain the integrity of the entire sport. I don't need politics in my sports. Until the leadership does the right thing I will continue to not watch. That's unfortunate for the good guys who've worked their entire lives to get to the pinnacle of their sport. They did nothing wrong and ultimately they will suffer for it.
Kinda hard for me to believe so many of our members can't distinguish the difference. But most of the members here have a WHOLE LOT of hate in their hearts and are never afraid to show it. To each his own. I don't just those who watch negatively. I don't judge those who protest the league negatively. I couldn't give a warm piss about the jackass players who caused all this or the leadership that let it happen.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

I work in management for a large auto manufacturer, you’re “fact” is incorrect, jbc. As Scott said, in Alabama you can fire someone with no reason. And I said any business., so I was incorrect But there are no nfl teams in Alabama. I still think If you fire someone in Alabama “because” they didn’t stand for anthem, there would be lawsuits. Whether it went anywhere or not is for the lawyers

But most of the members here have a WHOLE LOT of hate in their hearts and are never afraid to show it. I’ve thought the same thing a lot lately, which, let me be the first to say, I have been guilty of doing myself. Like most forums though, most keyboard bada$$es will talk tough on line but wouldn’t say so much as “boo” in person.
