The seat belt law is not the only thing they did this on. The legal drinking age in Alabama was raised from 19 to 21 under a threat to cut off federal money if it wasn't passed.


Yep . Drinking age used to be 19 in Alabama , 18 in TN. till the Feds stuck their nose in.



Yep I lived in TN when all that changed. Went from 18 to 19 when I was 19 and became 21 when I was 21. Not that it stopped me at 16 when it was 18
