What the hell is wyagu?
I'll put some grassfed Angus up against anything you wanna bring to the table. Basically the American version of Kobe beef Kobe is actually a form of wyagu. That beef is expensive but profit margins are the same when you factor the cost of the animals. Correct. Kobe is Wyagu. But it's my understanding that if you call any any beef over here "Kobe" beef..you'll have a fleet of your Japanese brethren over here suing the chit out of you. Wyagu straws arent that expensive when compared to high end Angus or any other breed..

Start out with raising a calf to eat or sell. Great learning experience without spending a lot. Then you will have a general idea of what it takes to raise a cow. You may then decide to get a second job instead, so you can actually come out ahead.
Do a cost analysis of what it is to get into to it. Then do it not before then. May be a an expensive hobby if that is what you want.

Can you build a house on this land? I had planned on doing that but wound up buying a place 5 mins down the road from the land. So it’s not much difference.

Best advice I can give you is to have a separate summer and winter pasture.
Keep good fences, and plant cool weather crops on the winter pasture. Plan on moving them to the summer pasture about mid April. Rotating the warm and cool season crops will cut down, drastically, on the amount of hay you'll need. Plus, the ability to rotate them will eliminate the cattle trying to constantly break out for greener grass.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

We were trying purebred Beefmasters. I picked out a nice young steer and when he got to be about 700 pounds I put him in a pen and poured the feed to him and finally butchered him at about 1200 pounds. I kept up with expenses and although it was good beef, I could have gone to Winn Dixie and got the choice meat cheaper in the long run.

Just got back from local grocery store Ster Market,had a sell on Wyagu ribeye $69:00 a pound and filet only $99:00 a pound. Hard to imagine people paying that kind of money for beef
