Another arrest has been made in Wilcox County in connection with the January homicide of a Mobile man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Ronald Price Sr., 60, of Red Creek was arrested Tuesday on charges of hindering prosecution and third degree receiving stolen property, in connection to an investigation into the shooting death of 47-year-old Robert Shane Manley. Bond has been set at $50,000 for the hindering prosecution charge, but bond has not been set yet for the receiving stolen property charge.

To all involved. It is just a shame that it took someone getting killed for law enforcement to come into the area and do what they should have been doing all along. Thanks to Hog for all the updates and keeping everyone informed. Thanks to the local law and attorney's on here that are familiar with the local courts for their input too. Hopefully, justice will be done. In the event that they have the hard evidence to prove exactly which individual did it, I'd like to see them warming "old sparky", the electric chair down at Atmore, up. It would warm my heart to see this guy get the death sentence and fried for it.

Down in the area turkey hunting; was told L.E. rolled in with a bunch of folks and helicopters at 3am and blew the door off the trailer to make the arrest.

Heard a plausible version of how the crime went down; but would rather not repeat something I can't verify. But somebody getting murdered over a deer is pathetic

Come on now, you cant write something like that without filling in at least some of the details. I'd bet that some of the guys on here can either refute or corroborate whatever you were told. Just post up a disclaimer that it is just something you heard second hand and fill everyone in.

Shane, the man who was killed, had been having a lot of trouble with poaching on the leased property that he was hunting. The local GW had been attempting to monitor the area and had communicated with him. He even set up a camera to attempt to get pics of the poachers....but, his camera was stolen.
The morning of the incident, he (along with others) saw and heard 4 locals making man-drives on the property and adjacent properties, which they were poaching on as well. He placed a call to the GW and had to leave a msg due to the GW not having signal in a rural part of the County. He sais in the msg that he had seen them and was going to attempt to see who it was.
The next thing known.....he was found shot.
Dogs did trail from the scene to a local residence.
BUT, the timeline dictated that the perp may, or may not, have still been there.

They did have some evidence and leads in addition to the tracking.

I can only assume that they were able to use the evidence to narrow the Search to the one guy.

That is what I have been told by fairly reliable Sources.

I do know that there were several different Agencies working this, including DCNR, from different angles and they put in a LOT of hours on it!
And, yes, by all reports, there was a definite Show of Force during the arrest!!!

I had heard a rumor initially that he was shot while still in his stand but later heard, from what I deem to be a fairly reliable source, that he had gotten down out of his stand and in some manner, either run into the group of 4-5 poachers, while they were poaching, or actually found and confronted them. What actually happened between them at that point and how he ended up shot is unknown. As a result of the encounter, Shane was shot in the head, neck/shoulder/upper torso area with buckshot but somehow made it back to his truck or at least close to his truck where he was found by another man that he was hunting with, and his stepson, which would tie pretty much 100% with Hogwild's description above. I also heard from a second uncorroborated source, that, when he was found, he was still alive but died at the scene. It could be that he provided a description of his shooter prior to his passing.
