I agree with alabamahuntress what a waste to just shoot and animal in waste. Pics do good for me when u kill 5-10 yotes a year it becomes work....and dont think they wont kill them baby deer...

Again - ETA: I also personally know a member on here that will tell you I live in a "wildlife sanctuary" as he calls it because it's so plentiful in game. Never shot a predator animal either for simply walking out in front of me so you can't run that BS of how they deplete the game population by me and make me buy it for one second...especially with bobcats, because they are in no way out of control to the point they need to be shot on the spot. I never buy meat from the grocery store, ever. I only eat wild game/fish and have for years. I also haven't ever shot a predator animal simply because it walked out in front of me. The point is, you don't have to shoot every predator you see to still harvest plenty of turkeys, deer, rabbit, doves or quail.
Would his name happen to be "Whild Bill"?

I know for those that dont live in a "wildlife sanctuary" better kill predators i c way more yotes than deer..4 cats were killed last year on our place and we have very few turkeys

To answer the op's question, I had a yote come in to a doe bleat in January. I gave it some 30.06. Didn't make a great shot and had it spinning in circles so I offered another round to put it out of it's misery. I'll kill all of them I can but have no interest in watching them suffer. Turns out it was just a pup not that that makes any difference.

I'm on board with the predator control thing but if I decide to kill something I want it dead. I have no desire to watch anything suffer needlessly. If I kill something I have to have a reason for doing it.
When I was a kid I had a Crossman pellet rifle. I didn't shoot song birds because I was told not to. I was down by the creek one day and wondered if I could hit a minnow swimming around. I did just to see if I could and afterward felt terrible. Left me with no desire for hunting or killing anything well up into my adult life. I probably never would have hunted were it not for my kids. About 6 years ago, they both were after me all year long to go hunting. It really caught me off guard and I resisted. It's kind of a long story which I won't bore you with but eventually I relented and now it's really all I want to do with my free time. I have no problem killing but I just don't see the need to let any creature suffer more than is necessary. I wounded 2 bucks this year and 1 the year before and when I think about it, it still gnaws at me.
If I decide to kill it I want it dead.

Haha i was thinking hed prob think i was a psycho with as much crap i killed..my 4 yr old finishes off the doves on shoot day with his bb gun...but i do agree i dont like em to suffer

I really don't care what anybody shoots, as long as its legal, but to say that we as humans must control the predator population or they will destroy all the game is bullchit. Will they take their fair share? Sure, but predator populations rise and they fall. Think about it, before we populated the country who shot the predators then? There were plenty of turkeys back then and i'm sure the bobcat population was the highest its ever been. Nature finds a way to regulate itself. When deer population drops, doe's have twin doe fawns. When too many gobblers are shot, well then entire nest of eggs are male. Nature finds a way. Have none of you ever watched Jurrasic park for god's sake? LOL
