I along with plenty of others eat wild game as our primary protein also. But we aren’t willing to share our depleting resources with the yotes, cats, coons and possums. If hawks were fair game they would be on the list also. It’s not about killing stuff just to kill it but saving every fawn, poult, quail, turkey, rabbit or any other thing we like to hunt we can. You were just complaining the other day about not having any turkeys. Well those predators you refuse to kill are taking care of them for you. Keep burrying your head in the sand and one day you will be asking where all the deer are also. But maybe you don’t care about loosing 50-80% of your fawns to predators. My son and I wasted a good morning of turkey hunting weekend before last shooting some coons we walked up on. But if I saved one turkey nest I’m good with that decision.
