Sure will. I cant wait to see what happens when they go to trial and have solid DNA and other corroborating evidence and the 80% african american, Wilcox County jury refuses to convict and vote guilty. They need to arrest the other 2 or 3 that were with him for obstruction of justice and lying to the investigators when questioned about being present.

Getting a guilty verdict in Wilcox County can be done. I am not saying that it will be easy, but not impossible.

Guys, I hate to tell y'all but I'll bet money it won't go to trial. Remember, this is my judicial circuit, and our D.A. is known for favorable pleas for the defendant. In his defense however, he almost has to take whatever plea he can get. The courts are so backlogged if a case goes to trial, their record of wins is not that great because of the time. Witnesses die, forget, change their mind, can't be located and a myriad of other reasons time works against the prosecution. They are glad to just get a guilty plea. In this particular case, without knowing the evidence, I'd bet if the guy will plead guilty to a 20 year sentence, they would take it.

Jaw, do you see any chance that a change of venue would be granted, if requested???

Is it correct to say that on a 20 yr guilty plea, the guy would be back out and a free man after serving only 10-12 years?

I don't see any grounds for a change of venue. Certainly not because you don't think you will have a favorable jury and if you even mentioned race as a factor, it wouldn't fly. I will set y'all straight about something though. The black folk in this area are just as tired of the thuggery as anyone else. It has been a long, long time since I felt that this played into a not guilty verdict. They will convict if a good case is presented.

If given 20 years, he should be eligible for parole in 7 or so, but murderers are unlikely to get paroled that early. The ones I dealt with either served the full sentence or close to it. I would like to know what the motive was also. That plays into everything.

Jawbone knows it all too well. Likely a plea deal, will serve some time, back out on the street to be a thug again somewhere down the road.

Change of venue is something that only the criminal defendant can ask for - based on so much pre trial publicity that any potential juror from that country has been tainted with bias.

As far as serving a sentence, once a convict serves one third of their sentence they are eligible for parole.

Did someone's game camera get a pick of this perp?

I usually take down all my game cams by end of February but for the last several years I have left
out a few at strategic locations to pick up any trespassers. Luckily I have never had a trespassing problem.

Hog wild.......is this the dude in your trail cam pictures?
Also, thanks to hog wild for keeping coals under peoples asses down there. I don’t know what I could ever help you with but if you need any help in the future and I can provide it you can mark it as done.

I’m glad they got somebody and I hope they get others that were in that trailer and helped the gun to disappear. I unfortunately do not think much will happen with our criminal justice system, not because of a local jury but because of backroom deals by the DA, and then a short sentence and early parole. I hope the family can get some justice and peace of mind knowing the alleged killer has been caught. God bless them and heal their hearts after this rediculous crime.

I stand by my earlier statements. God would have to do some serious work on my mind and soul to not make this sob feed catfish whenever he got out.

It does look like one of the guys I had pics of.
He had dredlocks up until recently.....then cut his hair and cleaned up a little for some odd reason......

I hope they fry him if he is the one who did it!!!

And, I Thank Micky Taite and all the other LEO’s that have been working this case for sticking with it!!!
