Sargent York. Loved the way he gobbled at the Germans and picked them off.

Fury...a look at the good and bad character traits of our grandfathers. Some were model citizens, some weren’t what you might prefer to bring home to thanksgiving dinner...all heroes

We were soldiers once..and young....the real story of the young men who were raised by the aforementioned patriots who stepped up to the plate (whether voluntarily or drafted) to serve....they came from a different dynamic than our grandfathers but were still willling to give their all. Their sacrifice began the transition of virtually all of our enemies from a direct line engagement strategy. That took character and intestinal fortitude regardless of their flower power generation.

The horse soldiers hasn't been mentioned until now. It may not be on Netflix yet though. Good movie.

Hacksaw ridge is great.

We were soldiers.

Beast's of no nation is a bit tough to watch, but it will make you stop and think about how well we have it here in the good old USA, and also about the condition of humanity as a whole.

Platoon, watched the first time with my ex father in law who was a hard ass Vietnam vet. It really impacted him, which impacted me.

Enemy at the Gates

Starring Jude Law and Rachel Weisz (Hottie!)

It's about the German siege at Stalingrad and the sub story of the most successful Russian sniper in history. Great movie with a good story line and good to see some Mosin-Nagants killing Germans.

Operation Pacific, Crash Dive, the fighting Seebee's, Destination Tokyo, or if you want to laugh check out Operation Petticoat...

I don't usually like a war movie made after 1979 but I have to say Hacksaw Ridge is a great movie, before ya'll jump on me Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers are two of my favorites...

Speaking of bridges, "A Bridge Over the River Kwai", has to come up. Great movie for one that is not a traditional war movie.

And not very factual. Watch "To End All Wars." The Japanese brutality is sickening.

Don't know of any good movies about the War of Northern Aggression because the wrong side always wins.
