Luke 16 tells about the rich man and Lazarus. In Hades, which is not hell but the place of the dead, is described as side with comfort, a side with torment and with a great gulf fixed in between. Jesus went to hades, Acts 2:27 but to the paradise side, Luke 23:43. Some speculate that before the saving blood was shed, none were allowed to enter heaven itself. Paul seems to teach that when the faithful die, they go to be with Christ, Phillipians 1:23 (and other places).

Atheism is only a temporary condition. Judgment is coming. Many sincere people who call Jesus their Lord will find themselves in the same condition as every atheist, lost.

Nowhere in scripture is anyone ever told to just accept Jesus into your heart. Nobody is ever instructed to say a sinner’s prayer. Every actual example of conversion (found only in the book of Acts) is similar and nobody ever is told to accept Jesus into your heart.

“"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

And maybe the liberal bastard confessed but If he didn’t then may he burn in hell like all the rest that have not confessed, plain and simple and no sugar on top.

Dang at the jealousy here on this thread.
Ya'll should be ashamed of yourselves.
Hawkins was blessed with brilliance, the devil struck him with illness, and he persevered and taught us the excellence and mechanics of God's creation which we use in our tools today, and ya'll still cuss him. Shame on ya'll.

No one sin is is greater than another, that’s one thing that a lot of sinners don’t understand and may never understand.!

It makes for a nice bumper sticker but I'm not completetly convinced. God didn't destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for garden variety sin like telling white lies.

Nobody is downplaying Hawkin’s intelligence, I think the point of all this is Hawkins went out of his way to discredit the existence of God. Totally contrary to the belief of the Bible Belt.
As for “the devil struck him with illness”, is it coincidence that he was struck with probably the most debilitating disease for one of the longest period of time? ALS is almost always a short term disease, have you ever heard of anybody that lived for as long as he did with ALS? I havent. I am nowhere near an intelligent person, but I cant help but believe all this is tied together.

I have been living a motor neuron disease for 16 yrs and was given 3-5 tops. The only reason it wasn't diagnosed ALS is the neurons in my neck muscle haven't become in involved. I'm here by the Grace of God and prayer by me and many faithful brethern. The man was a fool regardless of his contributions to real science or his intelligence. Just look at the human body it had to be created complete and perfect in an instant a male and a female at that.If a man would just look at how complex and perfect this earth and all the wonders in it are anybody would be a fool to say there is no God.

Not all diseases affect everyone the same way. It's one of the major hurdles for researchers developing treatments for cancer and neurological diseases. What might strike one person and become terrible in five years might stretch to 10 or 15 in another.

Plus, he had access to medical research at the highest levels. Who knows what kinds of treatment he underwent that we don't know about or could be in trials.

The point I was trying to make is Good is still in control irregardless of how smart a person is or what he thinks he knows.

I was hoping you were going to chastise him for improperly using, irregardless.

I believe Jesus Christ is my Savior. I do not go to Church at all. I see His miracles and creations around me everyday. I have no doubt there is a God.

That said, I am humble enough to realize we as humans might think we have it all figured out , but this couldn't be farther from the truth. I also believe we are not alone in the Universe. Hawking believed in the Big Bang theory and also the Big Crunch. In his mind, the Universe is expanding and I agree with him. Also, he believed the Universe will only expand so far and then will reverse and start to contract and everything will happen in reverse. If you get a chance, read (or watch) his A Brief History in Time. It is mind blowing to say the least.
