Still praying!! Are they sedating her? That’s pretty lame that they can’t do an MRI until Monday. I hate to speak negatively but I think someone is a little lazy. IMO

Prayers for y’all Gomer.
So they’re gonna leave her nasally intubated until Monday because they can’t do an mri until then? Id be in the dr.’s ear so fast on that he’d take her up and do it himself. That’s total bull crap. It makes me want to come raise immortal hell for you. That place claims to be world renown for patient treatment/care and is a level one trauma center. No way in hell should they leave her intubated that long when they could run her up there and do it. I’d be asking some questions.

They ended up being able to intubate her normally instead of through the nose. She'll have to be intubated until the swelling goes down regardless of the MRI, because as long as there's swelling, her airway is in danger of closing. They're actively ting to manage he swelling, it's just slow going. I have no problem getting after a doctor or nurse I feel isn't getting it done (I got sideways with a few here when GomerJr was here his first time) but I on et that impression with these.

It just sounds like they could give her better treatment once the MRI has been done and read by a dr. I don’t know, obviously I’m not there so I’ll be quiet. I hope everything goes smooth and y’all get back home safe and healthy soon.

I hate she is having to go through this and hate it even more that she is having to wait until Monday for an MRI. It seems strange to me that it can’t be done until then. But, hopefully it will provide the news you are looking for on Monday and she can be on the road to getting the appropriate treatment and getting released to go home.

Welp, she gave us a little excitement this morning by sitting up and yanking her breathing tube out. On a positive note, she was breathing fine on her own (the tube was a precaution in case the swelling worsened, since it came on so quickly to begin with), and within literally a couple of seconds of her pulling the tube, there was literally about 20 people at her side. It was pretty impressive and reassuring how quickly they were able to react. They were also able to get the tube back in no problem.

Also, the doctors got "a little firm" with radiology this morning and she'll be having her MRI in about an hour. Please continue praying, but all in all, things seem to be moving in a relatively positive direction.

She will probably be sedated at that age for MRI, so prepare yourself for one extremely pissed off child when she first awakes. It gets better after the child has a few of them, but I remember well my 4 y/o and her first couple of sedated MRIs when she woke up. Angry, inconsolable, crying, mean, etc.

You're in good hands though.

Yeah they did sedate her. Unfortunately we're experts with dealing with a toddler coming out of anesthesia - at 6yrs old, GomerJr has already had a total of 5 surgeries. They already had her sedated anyway though after she yanked her breathing tube out this morning.
